In early November, the government announced that it was launching a review in the country’s intellectual property laws, with a view to spurring technological innovation and “to see if we can make them fit for the Internet age.” The review, which is being chaired by Professor Ian Hargreaves of Cardiff University, has now called for evidence on how the current IP regime affects innovation.

Google and Coadec are co-commissioning a research report on the impact of copyright laws on tech startups and SMEs, and we want your help. If your business is (or has been) affected by copyright laws in any way, including:

* avoiding, changing or cancelling a product or business model due to copyright issues;
* using lawyers to assess copyright issues;
* being the subject of a copyright infringement action; or
* on the other side, actively enforcing your own copyrights

we’d be hugely appreciative if you’d consider serving as one of our case studies. It will only take 20-30 minutes of your time, and if confidentiality is an issue we can make anonymous.
